"The Direct Optical Bond Process"

Speaker: Dave Craig, Director of Engineering, G2D Technologies. LLC, Tulsa, OK
When: Tuesday, March 24rd at 12:00 noon
Where: Webinar (see instructions below)

As demand rises for vandal/damage resistant and outdoor readable touch screen
LCDs for the gaming industry, military, outdoor kiosks and digital signage networks,
price competition has forced many manufacturers to consider less expensive Direct
Bond options. The Direct Bond process is not magic but few manufacturers do it right.
Dave Craig will speak on his years of experience in Direct Bond, including the benefits
of Direct Bond and the different methods currently available. Dave will also discuss
testing procedures and ways to decrease the cost of Bonding LCDs to touch screens.

Speaker Background:

Dave earned his BSEET and MBA from Oklahoma State University. Before founding G2D
Technologies Dave served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing at
Lowrance Electronics. G2D Technologies is a small private consulting firm and does not

"Where's My Flexible Display?"

Speaker: Paul Drzaic
When: Tuesday, February 23rd at 12:00 noon
Where: Webinar (see instructions below)

In this talk I will describe a short history of flexible electronic displays, some of the technical approaches towards achieving flexibility using both silicon-based and organic-based materials, with particular focus on manufacturing issues associated with flexible electronic displays. Despite the fact that plastic-based electronic displays were demonstrated around 30 years ago, there are still few commercial examples of flexible electronic displays. That situation now appears to be changing. I will also discuss some of the issues that have slowed adoption of flexible displays in the marketplace, and some technical and market challenges to enable these technologies to flourish.
